In 1804, Lewis and Clark departed the riverbank in St. Charles amid cheers from the many citizens lining the banks. Gone 2 years and 4 months, the Discovery Expedition traversed the wild, largely unknown Missouri River Valley and western territories, scaled the Great Divide, reached the Pacific. On October 3rd, you, too, will be cheered as you explore the Missouri River Valley. You will travel back in history as you cross the Missouri river, navigate through historic St. Charles and travel the abandoned railway that is now the Katy Trail. You will return to the very campsite where Lewis and Clark started - triumphant!
