And, a few words:

  • There are climbs at the start of the bike course that would not be tough by themselves but coming after a swim and without much distance to warm up they can be tricky.  From a training perspective, some swim bike bricks with hills would help a lot.
  • The 465 loop is completed 2 and a quarter times.  Generally speaking you descend to start the loop, climb to 248, descend, climb to 65, turn around and repeat.  Although every rider is different I never felt like I needed to stand and pump to get up these hills but they are long grinders.  Repeating them could be taxing by the end of the loops.
