Sandy Creek Hilly Challenge
Saturday, October 1, 2011
Sponsored by Crystal City Cyclery
New this year: choose from 35, 65, and 100 miles options---see on-line store for details.
It's here ... the end-of-season challenge ride for those who are ready to confront a radically different century! We have put together 100 miles in one of the loveliest and hilliest counties in Missouri. Finish off the cycling season with a well-supported day of cycling and lunch. The first loop is 65 miles of Eastern Ozark hills on low or no traffic roads returning to the start point for a hearty lunch. You can stop there having completed a metric century, or continue with the second loop on different hilly (what goes up must come down), low-traffic roads for 35 miles more to complete your century. If you are a recreation rider, start late and just do the 35 mile option. This is the make-up ride for those completing the 5-Star Century Series, and an extra challenge ride for anyone else. Ride goes rain or shine; helmets are mandatory. Lunch is served until 3:00p.m.; SAG support ends at 5:00p.m.
