* The Skinny -For the 2011 race season local cyclists can try their hand at criterium racing. The City of St. Louis has graciously allowed us to use historic Carondelet Park for a fantastic season of criterium racing. The "A "and" B" races will commence on Tuesday, March 15th, 2011 at 6:00 and 7:00 pm respectively and continue every Tuesday Night through August 30th. The "Introduction to Bicycle Racing" aka "C" races will start on May 3rd and run through August 16th. The C" races will start at 7:40 pm. Races are subject to modification or cancellation due to poor visibility, inclement weather, or conflicts which may impact course availability.
* The Course -The course is an open .7 mile loop with one sharp turn and a bit of elevation gain. Pavement quality is near perfect and corners are very safe. The course is protected from the wind and has newer pavement on about 80% of the road. It is a great venue to improve fitness and racing skill.
* The Perfunctory Stipulation - In exchange for usage of the course, St. Louis City has requested that local racers simply respect the Park and the residents of the adjacent neighborhood.
* Parking-The parking lot and facilities will be available as close to 5:30 pm as possible.
* Registration will take place on site and open at appoximately 5:15 pm each Tuesday. Registration closes 30 seconds prior to the start of each race.
